Abstract
This is an original study which uncovers the alias Qian Zhuren 潛苑主人 of the truly rare book Dongbilou ji 東壁樓集 poetry collection to be the heir of Zheng Chenggong, Koxinga, and the second-generation leader of the Ming Zheng regime in Taiwan before its surrender to the Qing in 1683. It thus also corrects an error in a Japanese rare book catalogue which misattributed the author as the Yongli emperor of the Southern Ming regime. In the course of ascertaining the authorship and dates of the book, it also questioned the authenticity of the poems attributed to Zheng Jing in the better known Yanping erwang ji (The works of Zheng Chenggong and Zhengjing). It further discussed from Zheng Jing's poems of a decade in Taiwan Zheng's determination to recover the Zheng's lost territory in the mainland and the political predicaments he faced living in Taiwan.
