    Abstract

    This paper studied the discourses of Ye Chunji (1532-ca 1595) , a historically well-known low-ranked scholar-official, on governance of state and local levels in the latter half of 16th-century China, the contributions he made during his tenure as magistrate of Hui'an County in Fujian Province, and his contributions to the theory and practice of local gazette compilation.
