放縱與逃避 ——艾略特「非個性化」理論與中國古典體詩的寫作

Abstract

針對19世紀歐洲浪漫主義與情感主義思潮,英國詩人、文學評論家艾略特於1919年提出了「非個性化」理論,主張詩歌創作要「逃避感情」、「逃避個性」而非「放縱感情」、「表現個性」。近年,開始有學者取艾略特詩論以驗證中國古典文學,認為近乎王國維「無我之境」說者有之,訾議其割裂詩人與詩歌,違背創作規律者亦有之。本文透過閱讀艾略特所撰文論:〈傳統與個人才能〉與〈哈姆雷特〉,重新分析「非個性化」與「客觀對應物」理論;並從宏觀角度,比較兩種理論與中國古典詩學傳統的關係,獲得了三點發現:1、「無我之境」聚焦詩之境,「非個性化」重在詩之法,二者有本質上的差異;2、艾略特對承傳與新變的重視,讓詩人與詩歌、個人情感與歷史意識的聯繫更形緊密;3、「非個性化」、「客觀對應物」與中國古典詩學多有精神契合之處。
