外语写作跨洋互动研究二十载——成果、问题与展望

本文基于国内外73 篇文献的分析，梳理了外语写作跨洋互动二十载所取得的成果。研究成果可归纳为以P 为首字母的五大类：成品(product)、过程(process)、教学(pedagogy)、参与者(participants)及现象(phenomenon)。在此基础上，本文指出了现有研究与实践的三方面不足：重标准英语、轻英语变体；活动边缘化、未常态化；教师组织为主，甚少自生自发。最后，本文展望了未来研究的三个转向：从二语习得转向二语发展；从单语言、单模态实践转向跨语言、多模态实践；从教师组织转向原生态。

Based on 73 journal articles and edited volumes published in and outside China, this paper reviews the outcomes of research on online intercultural writing exchange over the past two decades. The outcomes could be categorized as five Ps: product, process, pedagogy, participants, and phenomenon. Building on the outcomes, the paper points out three issues prevalent in the existing research and practice related to online intercultural exchange: privileging Standard English over English varieties; enacting the exchange as a marginal pedagogical activity; overemphasizing teacher-initiated rather than self-initiated exchanges. Finally, the paper urges future researchers to make three changes in perspectives: from second language acquisition to second language development, from monolingual, mono-modal practice to trans-lingual, multi-modal practice, and from exchanges organized by teachers to exchanges‘in the wild’.
