Abstract
In recent years, the words of “sustainability”, “Green”, “Eco” have been transferred from simple catchwords to well-used design principles and design critics across almost every traditional design fields. Especially when this concept has been converted from the principles of achieving social goals, such as “low-carbon consumption”, “recycle material” and “environment friendly” etc. to be as the nature of things principles in various design fields. Nevertheless, compare to the traditional design fields that consider the physical materials as the main design matter, in the emerging design fields that are closely related to the digital materials, sustainability has still be integrated as a slogan, a perfect example could be seen is interaction design. Accordingly, in such emerging design fields, there is an imminent need to covert the concept of sustainability from a catchword to an implementable and practical design method. To the interaction designers and relevant academics, the current issue is how to achieve sustainability within the interactivity creation process. On the other hand, from the interaction design perspective, a common situation is designers are infatuated with graphical interface design and contents creation that originally should be the paragons in interaction design workflow.
