Abstract
制定语言能力等级量表是建设国家语言能力测评体系的基础性工作。汉语和英语是目前中国语言教育领域受到关注最多、影响最大的两种语言,其语言能力量表建设的重要性和紧迫性尤为突出。《国际中文教育中文水平等级标准》和《中国英语能力等级量表》是中国在汉语和英语语言能力量表建设方面的最新进展。本文通过分析两者在理论基础、研制方法、整体架构、描述参数和应用特点等方面的区别与联系,探讨两者在语言教学和测评领域的应用及启示,为中国国家语言能力测评体系的建设与完善提供参考。
Language proficiency scales play a fundamental role in the establishment of a national framework for language competence testing and assessment. Given the
significance of Chinese and English in China’s language education sector, it is imperative to develop scaling systems for these languages promptly. The Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education (CPGS) and China’s Standards of English Language Ability (CSE) have recently emerged as influential language testing and assessment scales for Chinese and English proficiency, respectively. This study critically examines the similarities, differences, and interconnections between these two scales in terms of their theoretical foundations, development methodologies, overall structures, discriminant parameters, and applications. By pushing the boundaries of China’s national framework for language competence testing and assessment, this paper also explores the potential implementation of these scales in language learning, teaching, and assessment, while identifying avenues for future research.
