Abstract

This study focuses on the students in vocational colleges and utilizes eye-tracking technology as a research tool. It tests the fixation duration, heat map and reading accuracy of the subjects when they read English passages by different media: paper and screen, which aims to explore the impact of digital reading and paper reading on English learning of vocational students. The results show that even if L2 reading, whether it is easier articles or more difficult articles, different reading media do not affect the correct rate of reading, but the subjects are more engaged and in-depth when reading easier paper articles.
