The SF-X Food Supply Chain Competition is co-organized by the Operations Research Institute of Jiangsu Province, Jiangnan University, and Shunfeng Express. It aims to apply operations research and logistics optimization techniques to real-world food supply chain challenges. With a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and innovation, the competition encourages participants to develop practical solutions to important problems in the industry.
Participants will choose between two main challenges: food supply chain warehouse and distribution optimization or multi-temperature food delivery optimization. The competition provides a platform for students and researchers to apply theoretical knowledge, explore emerging technologies such as drones and smart logistics, and contribute to the advancement of modern food supply chain management.
I (Dr. Windy Wen Xin) am the supervisor, two of our undergraduate students (Jianing Mao and Ka Chun Lam), one of my Research Assistant (Xinyu Huang), as well as an external person (Bo Peng) are participants. We developed a new supply chain model to solve the competition problem. We received the third prize.
