Prof. Mai was recognized for his pioneering contributions to fracture mechanics modeling and the characterization of coarse-grained ceramics, advanced fiber composites, as well as ductile polymers and blends. Conferred jointly by ICCES and Tech Science Press, the Wei-Zang Chien Medal honors researchers who have made groundbreaking technological innovations and achievements in the field of mechanics.
