Biography

Dr Yun Chang, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, received his bachelor’s degree from Jilin University (2013) and his Ph.D. from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (2019). He then conducted a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Purdue University (2019-2024). And he joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2024. His research interests focus on gene editing and the targeted differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells, in conjunction with the application of intelligent, functionalized biomaterials for disease immunotherapy.

Dr Chang has authored more than 40 research papers published in esteemed international academic journals, including Nat. Communications, Bioactive Materials, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, Advanced Science, Nano Today, Biomaterials, Cell Reports, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, and Nano Research. These publications feature his contributions both as the primary author and corresponding author. Furthermore, Dr Chang has successfully filed six patent applications.
