Biography

Dr. Wen received the B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU), Beijing, China, in 2015, and the M.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the China Agricultural University, in 2017. After that, he received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), in 2020. He was also a visiting Ph.D. student with the Faculty of Engineering, University California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) in 2018. In 2020, he won the Best Presentation Award from the Institute of Navigation (ION), and the First Prize in Hong Kong Section in Qianhai-Guangdong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, 2019. Before joining PolyU as a Research Assistant Professor, he was a senior research fellow at AAE of PolyU.

His mission and dedication are to develop cutting-edge, low-cost, and accurate positioning solutions for systems (autonomous vehicles, UAVs, smartphones, etc) with navigation requirements that can intelligently operate in a complex and diverse environment with sensing capability. His current research interests include 1) low-cost SLAM, GNSS, and deeply complementary multi-sensor integration-based positioning in complex scenarios. Mapping and localization for city-scale reconstruction (2) State estimation algorithm with non-Gaussian sensor noise and unknown outliers, optimization with highly non-convex surfaces. 3) Multiple agents collaborative positioning, cloud positioning.
