Jenny Chan (PhD 2014) is Assistant Professor of Sociology at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to the PolyU, she was Lecturer (2014-2016) of Sociology and Contemporary China Studies, and Junior Research Fellow (2015-2018) of Kellogg College, University of Oxford. She serves as Vice President of the International Sociological Association's Research Committee on Labour Movements (2018-2022). She is author of Dying for an iPhone: Apple, Foxconn, and the Lives of China's Workers (with Mark Selden and Pun Ngai), 2020, Haymarket Books & Pluto press.  

Jenny is Management Committee Member of China Research and Development Network (2017-present). From the fall of 2020, she contributes as Academic Advisor for the PolyU.

Between 2017 and 2020, Jenny was appointed as Member of the Sub-committee on “Community, Organization and Globalisation” Subjects (a Sub-committee of the Academic Planning and Regulations Committee), Committee on General University Requirements, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.
