Biography

Dr. David TW Wong is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). His research and teaching interests lie in innovation management, management information systems, operations management, and supply chain management.

Dr. Wong worked for 16 years at various international companies in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China. During his 4 years at PolyU, he has published several papers on innovation and operations management in international journals, such as Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Production Economics, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. Dr. Wong also served as Principle Investigator on a PolyU (UGC) Fund project for Start-up Fund for RAPs under the Strategic Hiring Scheme (which was completed in 2024), Co-Investigator on an Innovation and Technology Fund project for The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (which was completed in 2023) and a PolyU (UGC) Fund project for Research Centre of Textiles for Future Fashion.

During his 4 years as Research Assistant Professor at PolyU and 1 year as Lecturer at Saint Francis University, Dr. Wong has also taught undergraduate-level courses on management information systems, event marketing, marketing for hospitality, quality service management, organizational behavior, brand management, and services marketing. His experience in international firms, his research experience, and his MBA training enable him to offer students valuable assistance with projects and assignments. Dr. Wong has achieved average ratings of 4.8/5.0 (2022/2023), 4.2/5.0 (2021/2022), and 4.3/5.0 (2020/2021) in the last 3 years.
