Dr Simone Bianco joined the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor in August 2023. Specializing in strategic management, startups, and firms' competition, Simone's research has been recognized in top-tier journals, including Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Research.

Before joining SHTM, Simone had several years of hospitality industry experience, occupying various positions in the hotel, restaurant, and industry representation fields in both Europe and the United States. Committed to both education and research, Simone believes in fostering a learning environment that encourages critical thinking and real-world application. This philosophy extends to his research, where he is dedicated to using knowledge to inform and improve both the hospitality industry and society at large. This involves not only conducting studies but also translating findings into practical solutions that can make a genuine difference in the real world.
