Biography

Dr. Patrick KOR is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests include gerontology, cognitive impairment, caregivers support, mindfulness and nursing education. He has received numerous awards for his outstanding teaching and research, including the QS Stars-Wharton Reimagine Education Awards, Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing (US National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence), Hong Kong ICT Award’s Smart People (Smart Education and Learning); PolyU President's Team Award for Outstanding Teaching Achievement; PolyU Faculty Team Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching, PolyU Faculty Distinguished Thesis Award, and Top Cited Article. 

Dr KOR has also secured more than HKD$8,000,000 (~$ 1 million USD) of external funding as a principal investigator, from various sources such as Early Career Scheme (University Grants Committee), General Research Fund (University Grants Committee); Health & Medical Research Fund, Bright Future Charitable Foundation, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (US), and Nethersole Institute of Continuing Holistic Health Education. Additionally, Dr. KOR has published numerous articles in high impact factor journals, including The Gerontologist, International Journal of Nursing Studies, Experimental Gerontology. He also serves as the editorial board of BMC Geriatrics. 

Dr. KOR is involved in various committees and leadership role, including the Program Leader (Master of Nursing), School Learning and Teaching Committee (SLTC), Research Activity Exercise (RAE) working group, PolyU Institutional Review Board Panel. He is currently accepting postdoctoral fellow and Ph.D. students to mentor. Interested individuals are invited to send their CV and research interests via email.
