Biography

Dr Mei Yu Yao (Alice) is a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Fashion and Textiles at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received her Ph.D. at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017. Her research interests are mainly focused on design thinking, knitting therapy, cultural design, and smart textiles. Her works often utilize textiles and design as a communicative, interactive, and therapeutic method for human wellness. She has presented her research in exhibitions and publications, including articles in the Advanced Functional Materials and Textile Research Journal.
