Biography

Prof. Chen Juan’s research centers on migration and urbanization, health and mental health, and help seeking and service use. The key issues she addresses are the ways in which structural disadvantages contribute to individual disparities and the means by which such disadvantages can be eliminated through policy and practice interventions. Her work has appeared in China Quarterly, Urban Studies, Habitat International, Cities, Social Science & Medicine, Transcultural Psychiatry, among others. She is a recipient of the Humanities and Social Sciences Prestigious Fellowship Scheme awarded by RGC in 2023/24.
