Biography
Prof. Daisy Zhang was trained in Public Health. Her research expertise primarily focuses on mental health and community healthcare. Much of her research involves designing, implementing, and evaluating mental health and community health intervention programs, as well as conducting epidemiological studies and systematic reviews on common mental and physical health problems. She is also interested in child and adolescent health, as well as exploring how technology can assist in holistic care and well-being.
Over the past 10 years, she has secured over 40 grants and donations as a Principal Investigator (PI), Co-Investigator (Co-I)/Co-lead, and Coordinator. These include funding from the Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF), Research Grants Council (RGC), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NFSC), BRICKS Social Innovation Research Collaboration Platform Fund (British Council), Knowledge Transfer Fund, the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund, and charity donations (such as the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, Croucher Foundation, and DH Chen Foundation). She has co-supervised one PhD student and 15 master’s students to successful completion.
Prof. Zhang has authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications, with about half in JCR Q1 journals, and more than 30 conference abstracts. She is a contributing author to the Oxford Textbook of Public Mental Health. Additionally, she serves as an editorial board member and guest editor for several research journals, such as BMC Public Health, Nursing Reports, and Frontiers in Public Health. She also acts as a peer reviewer for various international research journals, such as BMJ, Depression and Anxiety, Translational Psychiatry, JMIR, and British Journal of General Practice.

I am currently seeking to recruit fully funded Ph.D. students who are interested in mindfulness, Chinese culture-based psychological interventions, common biopsychosocial health problems, and application of technologies for well-being.
