Biography
Michael Sing is currently an Assistant Professor (Building Surveying and Law) in the Department of Building and Real Estate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Distinguished Fellow at the University of Canberra, Australia, with extensive experience in the Higher Education sector (Hong Kong & Australia). Besides, Michael also holds a Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying (1st Hons), a Master's (Distinction) and a PhD in Construction Management and Engineering (Curtin University, Australia). By profession, Michael is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Project Manager.
Michael’s present research focuses on (a) infrastructure maintenance and management, (b) project performance evaluation (c) simulation and engineering informatics (policy, planning and control) and (d) Urban renewal and rehabilitation.
Recruitment of several PhD Students, Postdoc Fellow (RF) and Research Assistants
The PhD/RF are expected to work on our upcoming research projects related to urban renewal and rehabilitation, smart infrastructure maintenance/ management, big data analytics in construction and project management.
PhD Candidate(s) and Postdoc Fellow need to be self-motivated, possess good professional ethics, be good at communicating (including writing in English) and have a strong sense of responsibility. Candidate with knowledge of GIS or computer programme language is preferred.
