Biography

Dr. Annie Yu, an Assistant professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), holds a BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles (with first class Honors) and a PhD from the same institution. Her doctoral research focused on Development of Pressure Therapy Glove for Hypertrophic Scar Treatment. Before joining PolyU, she worked as an assistant professor at Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan. Dr Yu has published over 40 papers in SCI Journals.

Research interests

Dr. Yu's main research interests include the design of novel knitted fabrics and functional textiles. She also specialises in experimental design and evaluation of clothing fit and comfort, physiological and psychological responses of human participants to different types of textiles and clothing products, as well as formulation of simulation models to predict garment-skin pressures.
