【#PolyUResearch 🏡】The Housing Bureau and the Hong Kong Housing Authority have recently introduced a resident-oriented "Well-being Design" Guide. 📖 An interdisciplinary research team from #PolyU was honoured to contribute as the Principal Researcher. 😊 This team spearheaded the development of the design framework and played a crucial role in creating the "Well-being Design" Guide. ✍🏻
Our researchers leveraged their expertise to enhance well-being: Dr Aria Yang from the School of Design in housing innovation; Prof Angela Leung from the School of Nursing in healthy living; Dr Esther Yung from the Department of Building and Real Estate in urban mobility; Dr Brian Lee from the School of Design in service innovation; and Dr Grace Seo from the Department of Applied Social Sciences in housing policy. This initiative aims to assist the Housing Bureau in assessing the impact of public housing design on residents' subjective well-being. 🔍 In collaboration with Prof Kenneth Fong from the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, the team also developed a socialisation seating design, which will be adopted by the Housing Department as the standard for public housing. 🪑
We eagerly anticipate the positive impact of the "Well-being Design" Guide, ultimately enhancing the sense of well-being among residents of Hong Kong's public housing. ✍🏻
