DescriptionHong Kong’s trams ran for free on Wednesday, in celebration of their world record as “largest double-decker tram fleet in service”.

They've been around since 1904, and carry about 200,000 people a day. But do they have a future? Are trams commercially sustainable? Are they mostly for tourists? Would they work in other areas - like Kai Tak, or West Kowloon, or Shatin?
