it’s official. Hong Kong will resume quarantine-free travel with the mainland this Sunday.
At least 60,000 people will be allowed to cross the border each way between Hong Kong and the mainland each day. 50,000 people using land border crossings will first be required to book a spot using a new online application system, but those who have flight or ferry bookings don’t need to apply. Meanwhile, the high-speed rail is expected to reopen on January 15.
Quotas have been lifted entirely for Hongkongers returning to the SAR, and for mainlanders head-ing north.
Those travelling to the mainland will be required to get a negative PCR test within 48 hours of depar-ture.
What do you think of the arrangements? How ready are we for the reopening?
