    Description

Presented a talk on AI Applications in Environmental Geoinformatics
    Abstract:

Earth Observation (EO) data is critical for monitoring environmental challenges, yet faces limitations like coarse resolution, data gaps, and spatial scarcity. This presentation showcases how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing Environmental Geoinformatics by overcoming these barriers. Through case studies—including reconstructing and downscaling GRACE terrestrial water storage data, enhancing Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), and detecting wildfires—we demonstrate how AI models (e.g., RecNet, LSTM, CNN) extract superior insights from satellite data. These AI-driven solutions provide high-resolution, continuous, and accurate environmental intelligence, enabling better management of water resources, disaster prediction, and climate variability studies for a more resilient planet.
