Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talk

Description

Research Dissemination Workshop to the Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor (HKCNP) on June 24, 2022 from 10am-12pm. This 2-hour workshop involved: (i) presenting the findings from my ECS project on challenges and strengths of low income elder-headed household (older people living alone or with their spouse only), and (iii) inviting the practitioners and volunteers of the HKCNP to participate in discussion regarding potential solutions – interventions/programs, and specifically inviting members to join part of a community based participatory research team (CBPR) that will meet from July – October 2022 to come up with an initial proposal for an intervention/program. There were 41 participants who attended the event, which included mostly service providers and some volunteers who are concerned and committed to supporting low income older adults who live alone or with spouse only. From this event, we were able to recruit 8 practitioners/service providers.
