    Description

This online roundtable and lecture Series for “The (Im)Possibilities of Art Archives: Theory and Experience in/from Asia” is co-hosted by the Department of Chinese Culture, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Arts Development Council between May - June 2022. These events serve as pre-launch promotion for the namesake edited volume, with Dr. Pan Lu at CC as the editor -in-chief.
In the events, authors of the book introduce their own chapter that demonstrates the dynamics and self-generative capacity of builders and users of art and visual archivesall over Asia. Through their discussion, we are able to trace and through the practices of artists and curators who apply their specific understanding of archive to their works. The lectures and roundtables, as well as the book, aim to fill the gap in the research, juxtaposition, and focused discussions in the existing literature on art archives in Asia.
