Description

I am pleased to invite you to the first ever Hong Kong Teaching Excellence Alliance's (HKTEA) Community of Practice (CoP) Kick-off Symposium “Online Teaching by STEM Teachers: Opportunities and Challenges” on Tuesday, 1 June 2021 through Zoom. This symposium is organized by the HKTEA's CoP on “The Innovation and the Future of STEM Education”.

In our “new normal”, online teaching and learning has become a crucial and common experience for instructors and students alike. With it, comes many opportunities and challenges to ensure that the course delivery, outcomes and experience still meet the high standards previously attained in a face-to-face classroom. We are delighted to have distinguished keynote speakers, Dr. Grace Ngai (PolyU), Dr. Wilton Fok (HKU) and Dr. Tim Woo (HKUST) to share their experiences on how they have seized on the opportunities and tackled challenges to keep their teaching and service excellent online despite COVID-19. In addition, we will have a student sharing session and a panel discussion on the same topic of our symposium. In this event, academics and experts from a range of STEM disciplines across different universities in Hong Kong will explore, discuss and share experiences and insights on the topic of online teaching.
