Description

This project aims to examine the assistive technology (AT) policy and provision and the needs for AT of people with different disabilities in the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR). The study will consist of the phases. In the first phase, the AT policy system of the region will be compared with that of a number of Asian cities. Second, interviews and focused group, led by specialists, will be conducted to discuss the experiences of different stakeholders in the AT provision and prescription processes from a personal perspective. In the third phase, a survey study will be conducted to obtain information on the AT needs of people with different disabilities. The study will give insight to develop AT policy and system in the city.
